Crevier and Martel making a move in 9-ball championship.

Aug 20, 2009 - Junior 9-ball got underway yesterday with representation from Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Ontario and Saskatchewan.

They have played down to the hot seat round with McEarl Bucais and Brittany Bryant in the driver's seat.

McEarl finished third in the men's amateur 9-ball losing to Tom Theriault in the B side final. Bucais defeated Theriault in the junior opening round and he never recovered in the lower bracket.

Brittany on the other hand already has the Women's 8-ball championship in hand and is in the hot seat round in the Women's 9-ball championship which also completes today.

Tim Bristow and Ryan Spence hopes are still alive having gone the furthest distance in the lower bracket.

In Women's 9-ball it's played down to Brittany Bryant and Denise Belanger on the A side and Veronique Menard and Naomi Campbell on the B side.

In Men's 9-ball it's Jason Klatt and John Morra upper with Francis Crevier playing off against Mario Morra and Alain Martel up against Adam Smith lower.

Francis Crevier and Alain Martel still have much work to be done, but they have some impressive wins in hand, having gone five rounds in the lower bracket.
