Membership in the association is $25.00 per year. This entitles players to compete in any OBSA sanctioned snooker, 8 ball, 9 ball or 10 ball event. For a complete OBSA tournament listing, select the Schedule menu item.
The intention of the OBSA is to qualify 12 players directly into the 2011 Canadian Snooker Championship from the series of 12 ranking tournaments. At the end of the season in May we will also qualify 2 ‘A-only’ players directly to the Canadians.
The A-only qualifiers will only be open to players that have played in a Minimum of five (5) tournaments.
NO EXCEPTIONS
We may have some Direct Entry snooker qualifiers towards the end of the year. This will depend entirely on available entries for the Canadian Snooker Championship as decided by the CBSA. At present there are no guarantees in this regard. (None in 2010)
Should we have these Direct Entry snooker qualifier(s), these tournament(s) will only be open to players that have played in a Minimum of five (5) tournaments.
NO EXCEPTIONS
- All players must have a Paid 2010/11 OBSA membership prior to the first tournament they compete in. This $25 membership can be paid on arrival at the scheduled venue.
- $30.00 entry fee for all players.
- All matches best 4-of-7.
- There will be no seeding, all players will be in a random draw.
- Dress code will be dress pants, long sleeved shirt, vest and dress shoes that take polish. Ties are optional.
- **Pre-registration will close at 8 pm sharp on the Friday just prior to the tournament dates. (eg. - Q4 Dec 13th & 14th; pre-registration Dec 12th). NO ENTRIES will be accepted past 8 pm Friday. The draw will be made immediately thereafter.
NO ENTRIES will be accepted on Saturday. All byes, if any, will stand heading into Saturday's matches once the draw has been made.
If you are registered to play and don't phone to withdraw **BEFORE THE DRAW IS MADE, you are still required to pay the $30 entry. This payment will be required to participate in future events. Special circumstances will be addressed by the executive and player's rep. - **Late-shows lose 1 frame at their scheduled time and 1 every 5 mins following. eg. Scheduled time 11:00 am. If you are not at your match table you will lose 1 frame at 11:01, 2 frames at 11:06, 3 frames at 11:11 and the match at 11:16.
- Prize money distribution if 12+ players. NOTE: Applies to Toronto area tournaments only. Prize money, if any, will vary for each region, and will be determined by the Tournament Director in each qualifying area.
- IBSF Rules apply (all fouls).
- Aramith Tournament Champion snooker balls are provided by the OBSA.
