OSSL season gets into full gear this weekend.

September 10, 2009

The Ontario Senior Snooker League had it's first event of the season this past weekend. It gets into full gear this weekend with two tournaments scheduled, in Kitchener and Hamilton.

There are 32 scheduled dates between now and the end of December. The dates as well as the venues can be viewed from the OSSL > Schedule link. All clubs that were previously involved with the senior snooker league continue to do so for the coming season.

There have been some minor revisions to the Format, most noticeably, the handicap and rating system. Neil Hendry and Larry LaSalle did a role reversal with LaSalle taking up the reins as President. Vic Pottruff and Kevin Patrick continue their roles as Treasurer and  Statistician.

If you are currently 55 or planning on doing so before December 31st, you have passed the first hurdle. New member registrations are welcomed, all you have to do is show up at the scheduled venue, pay a one time annual registration fee of $25 and a $15 entry fee and they'll look after the rest.

Registrations are at the venue between 9:00 and 10:00 am. All registered players are placed in groups using a round robin system with the winners advancing to an elimination round.  More details can be found from the OSSL > Format link.
