The Alain Robidoux Invitational got underway with four matches on Thursday evening and continued through a long weekend of play with three match times scheduled Friday and Saturday.

Daniel Chabot, Alain Robidoux, Lou Fiori and Jeff Kennedy advanced from Thursday's evening rounds with Jeff Kennedy compiling breaks of 75 and 93 in his match with Fred Delan.

The second round was complete after Friday's matches with Andre Roy, Phil Snache, Alberto Camara, Bob Chaperon, Floyd Ziegler, Claude Bernatchez, Rodney Cuillerier, Terry Davidson, Cliff Thorburn, Fern Loyer, Lester Mianskum and Alex Zhang advancing. Alberto Camara had the highest break coming out of Saturday' play with an 84.

Terry Davidson and Mike Zakini played to a draw after eight frames and had to wait a couple of hours to play their decider to allow the 8 pm matches to get underway. Earlier in the day Phil Snache and Pierre Sanscartier had also taken their match the distance with Snache advancing.

Phil would continue his run with wins over Fern Loyer and Cliff Thorburn Saturday and Floyd Ziegler Sunday, to reach the finals. On the bottom half of the board Bob Chaperon defeated Hubert Beauregard, Jeff Kennedy and Alberto Camara Saturday, and Alain Robidoux Sunday, to reach the final. Robidoux would have the highest pro tournament break of 90 in this match.

Chaperon took control of the final winning the first three frames and stealing the fourth on a 51 clearance with Snache 39 ahead.

Phil would win frame five but Chaperon sealed the tournament with his win in frame six.
